Phonics Software to Improve Reading Ability
The School Pack of the My Reading Coach Gold Edition educational software is offered for those who need to provide reading instruction to several classrooms or a whole school. Using Single Student versions with such a large group would be impractical.
There are two types of School Packs: one for 50 students and another for 100.
What Is Included
With the School Packs of the My Reading Coach software, you get the following items:These CDs will install the student database to a server and install the actual program to workstations, allowing multiple workstations to use the program at the same time. A License for 50 or 100 Users
With the School Packs you start with up to 50 or 100 students on the program, depending on which version of the pack you purchase.
Note: In response to student mobility, Mindplay is adding an additional 10 students for free for the School Pack of 50 (for a total of 60) or an additional 20 students for free for the Class Pack of 100 (for a total of 120).
The Teaching Guide includes detailed information on the settings and use of this educational software. This guide will let you fine-tune the various program options to match particular students' abilities--further increasing the individualized reading instruction benefit. Blackline Master Book
This book contains all the offline worksheets used with the program. You can copy the homework/exercises from the book instead of having to print them from within the program. Web-based Training
Web-based form of the on-site training that goes into detail on all the settings and options in the program. It uses video optimized for high-speed network Internet connections--providing better picture and sound quality. One Year Free Technical Support
You get one year of free phone and e-mail technical support for the program in addition to the support website.
Teaching Reading to a Group -- As Individuals
of My Reading Coach provides the same reading instruction benefits as the other versions (as described in the Benefits and How It Works pages). The primary difference is that it is limited to a certain number of specific, non-reusable students.
Since you are getting the Professional version, you also get the ability to create teacher accounts and group students according to class. Teacher accounts can be used to monitor progress, print reports, and adjust settings for students assigned to their classes.
Each of the students can use the program for up to year. If you follow the recommended guideline of about 30-60 minutes a day, five days a week, almost any student should finish well ahead of the deadline.
You can purchase additional students at any time. Once ordered, a new license key from Mindplay will be given. After entering the new key, you will be able to add the new students.
Combining Multiple Packs on a Network
If you plan on using My Reading Coach on a network and purchase multiple Starter Packs, Class Packs, School Packs, or combination of packs, the total number of students can be combined so you only need to worry about one set of data files and one group of students.
For example, let's say you've ordered a Gold Edition School Pack of 100 and two Gold Edition Starter Packs and plan to put it on one network. Instead of messing with three different sets of students and data files, it can be combined into one database of 130 students (120 for the School Pack and 10 for the two Starter Packs). Once in one database, the students can be grouped into classes or periods.
